Newcastle United look to sign EURO 2024 Star

Well, after a quiet month, it’s two in 24-hours for Newcastle United it seems as they look to step up interest in Crystal Palace and England star Marc Guehi.

Marc Guehi is the one

Guehi, who just turned 24, was a star for England at the recent EURO 2024 finals where he played all but one game (due to suspension). Newcastle have been looking for a new CB all window, and in Guehi they would land a star for the future, who would easily evolve the side right away.

It’s unknown what the fee would be for Guehi, as talks are still at a very early stage. But Palace do seem set to lose him regardless, as Guehi looks to push his career forward with a new club.

With interest from Man U, Liverpool, and many others, Newcastle has decided to strike first in the move. What happens next, however, will decide where Guehi goes with Palace likely looking to drum up other interest to drive his price up.

Guehi’s current deal runs till 2026, with no signs he is likely to sign a new one. Palace as such are looking to cash in on the CB now, especially given his impressive display at EURO 2024.

Newcastle United locked in

It looked like Newcastle had gone to sleep a little in the window. Having hired Paul Mitchell to oversee transfers, the club had gone quiet after signing John Ruddy. Newcastle do now seem to be getting their ducks in order, with a deal for Sheffield Striker William Osulu now also looking likely if the club can agree on terms with the player.

Speculation on who Newcastle might sign on the right wing has gone quiet, however, though Guehi would likely be enough to calm fans down for now. It does seem like Newcastle would need to sell Almiron first before he is replaced, however, and with the 31-year-old not keen to leave it might be a hard sell.
