Man Utd firm on £30m fee for Scott Mctominay Newcastle United drop out of race

Scott Mctominay

Manchester United is keen on selling 27-year-old striker Scott Mctominay as Fulham fail to reach an agreement. Newcastle United have been linked in the past, but it seems unlikely Howe will push for a move for now.

Scott Mctominay was once a top target for the Magpies, as NUFC were looking for a suitable new star in the midfield. Multiple sources have now reported that Fulham have dropped out of the race for the 27-year-old striker, who was also earlier a target for Newcastle United.

Mctominay made over 43 appearances for Man United last season, and the star is keen on leaving Old Trafford, given the bosses agree on the £25-30m fee that the club are looking for.

Might Newcastle return?

McTominay’s future at Old Trafford remains up in the air as multiple Premier League clubs are still in the race to secure a deal for the versatile midfielder. However, Man United would be able to settle on a deal to sell the mid-fielder upon receiving a bid of no less than £25-30m.

Right now, it seems unlikely. Newcastle are still looking for a CB and has not signed a right winger yet. Reports also suggest the club might be looking to bring in a keeper, likely Trafford as they look to secure the long-term future of that position.
